If SS was to actually train again and cut weight I believe he would stand a good chance of winning an open style full contact karate tournament. I do not however think he would have a chance against a hard training semi retired ex MMA champ. Just because he worked with Silva on some technique doesn't mean he could compete with the likes of Silva but I'm preaching to the choir here.

SS has never shown he can take a punch or kick. He CAN take lunch, though.

You're basing this on... what exactly...?
"So, yeah, Zen teachers may well insult you, work you to the bone, hit you with sticks, shout verbal abuse at you, and punch the **** out of you.
And when the ****'s been punched out of you, you might just find that you're far better-off without it." - Vieux Normand

"So in short, BJJ wins again. BJJ, and chainmail." - TheMightyMcClaw

"On bullshido, your opinions are not sacred, neither are your feelings." - Scrapper

"You entered the lions' den. Don't bitch if you get eaten." - danniboi07

"Needless to say, it's much easier to clear a bunch of drunk kids out of your house when you're yelling GTFO and carrying a samurai sword." - DerAuslander

"Eventually, I realized it doesn't matter what art you train, what matters is the method in which you train. Training in an alive manner, under skilled and qualified instruction, is the single most important aspect of gaining martial skill. All else is window dressing." - JNP : Saying it how it is!

And what black belt (Level) does he have for his lunch taking ability?

The weight thing is a factor; not the factor. Lets also throw in his age (60), the lack of physical conditioning over the years takes its toll, as does the natural loss of muscle mass, lung-function and slowing of reflexes.

Now, add the fact that he has never actually fought, or trained to fight. His Aikido skill-level notwithstanding, he is a grabber and twister of arms, not a full-contact karate guy, boxer or grappler.

To say that Seagal would stand a good chance of winning a full-contact bout is speculative. IMHO, he can choreograph circles around Bas or Randy. I enjoy the entertainment aspect of what he does and the fact that he has drawn people to the martial arts.

He is at least soke or grandmaster level at dining. He is obviously consistent in his meal taking.

They don't do belts, but he is a golden bib w/ beard-chicken motif.

Awesome. Rousey vs SS would be interesting, save the risk to Rousey being under SS as he is submitted.

SS is in Santa Fe NM shooting a film- Funniest thing I heard from up there was, "IF you are caught staring at his head. You are fired immediately" Here is a blurp from local media (Same buddy told me he worked a movie with J Lo, if you took a picture of her behind- termination was immenent- But what a way to go)

Seagal movie begins filming in Albuquerque area

ALBUQUERQUE — A movie starring Steven Seagal, Danny Trejo and Ving Rhames starts filming this week in the Albuquerque area.

The New Mexico Film Office says the production of Force of Execution will employ at least 65 crew members from the state, as well as 300 actors and background talent.

According to the film office, Force of Execution is a story about a crime lord torn between his legacy and a desire to leave his life of crime behind.

Keoni Waxman is the director and executive producer. The film is being produced by Seagal and four others.
