Randy Couture Responds to Seagal Challenge

That is likely because he's probably used enough cocaine over the years that it oozes from his pores. Even through this, he at least looks as he could still kick an ass.

Ok, nobody who has any remotely coherent knowledge about fighting believes Steven Seagal has a choir boy's chance at the Vatican in a fight against former UFC Heavy, and Light-Heavyweight champion Randy Couture; except maybe Seagal himself and a handful of glue-huffing Aikidoka.




So not because this is News, but because this is hilarious, here's what Randy has to say about the whole thing:

“I’m the one that started the joke as an off-handed comment I made to Jay Glazer — that I’d only come out of retirement if it were to fight Seagal. Obviously now somebody has talked to him about it and it has gotten some legs. I’m not surprised that he wants to do it in private, remote location where nobody could see it happen. Obviously I intended it as a joke. I don’t think it would really happen.”

On the subject of whether Seagal's suggestion it be a true "no holds barred" fight, Couture said: "I don’t think that changes the nature of the fight at all.”

And on the chance of this actually taking place: “Hey, it could happen organically I suppose”.

Here's to hoping. It's apparently been too long since Seagal shat himself.

Damn. I want this to happen badly. Seagal for some reason, has a huge ego. Maybe that can be exploited? Could we maybe get a petition together, have tons of people sign it, and send it to Seagal? If somebody can get his email address, maybe we could find a way to get millions to continue to goad him to fight Couture?
Even though the fight will last about 2 seconds, I'd be willing to plop down my 70 bucks or whatever to watch this on PPV.

Here's how that fight would go:

Yeah, basically. No matter what, if this fight were to happen, Seagal ends up covered in his own blood, possibly his own ****, and more than likely either unconscious, severely injured, or both. In under a minute.

The rules and gloves would be the only thing saving Seagal's fat ass from bloody mayhem.

seagal is of grandmaster level so in the back of his mind he feels hes always right and cant be wrong so that arrogance has made him a complete douche lol with japanese martial arts training comes japanese pride...you know what they say in the old movies, japanese martial arts is the best stronger than chinese lol all martial arts are great it depends on the person whos studying it to become greater than whats expected of the art

So, is what you are saying: Seagal reached the pinnacle of Aikido; he got to the top, and is now resting on his laurels? Chuck Norris, Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren all stayed in shape, of course, they were actually athletes at one time; Seagal was not. Any of the above would hand Seagal his ass in any scenario (except for a gun range LOL).

That about sums it up. You do understand that MA movies are choreographed fiction, and not actual fights, right? Mr Seagal doesn't actually walk down the snapping people's arms, crippling street gangs and beating the **** out of everybody he sees in every bar he enters. Mr Couture is actually a fighter. And as for your whole "Japanese arts are made for killing not fighting", that's bullshit. While in MMA there are moves you can't do, there isn't any art that consists entirely of ballkicks, eye gouges, etc. Anything you can use in the cage can be used on the street. Much of what you can use on the street can be used in the cage. Why did Chris Leben get cornered by Burton Richardson? Because Burton Richardson knows his ****. So, when they were training, I'm going to go ahead and assume that they focused on things other than stickfighting, eye gouging, ball kicking, etc.
The reason I bring this up is, you seem to think that Seagal's Aikido wouldn't be used in the cage because it's too deadly, but that's ridiculous. The reason you won't see a lot of Aikido in the cage is because it isn't exactly the premium choice for knocking out or submitting a highly trained, in shape, skilled fighter.
Maybe someday someone will come along and take the good **** out of Aikido and apply it differently and mix it with other things. Maybe somebody already has. And maybe, somehow, there's somebody out there who is enough of a badass to make that **** work in the cage.
Steven Seagal is not that man.
