The sad truth is that underneath Krav Maga stylists, gangsters and career criminals are probably the best "street" fighters out there. So if you really want to learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones, that's probably the place to be.

Muay Thai was brought over to Australia by Zendokai clubs (which were run by Bikers), so its a similar situation that it changing thankfully.

I think it finally clicked when i went to my fight after party and saw two middle aged women with tea-towels wrapped around their fists having a boxing match.

My favorite was when the gym owner was publicly insulted by a female biker at a club. Unable to smack her down himself, but needing to avenge his ego, the next week he propositioned our female fighter to come beat the girl up in exchange for a months free training.
