Help me figure out if Guided Chaos is a legit defense.

OK, so I need to learn self defense quickly (roughly less than half a year before I take on a job working in a dangerous area where I have been warned that I must be able to defend myself).

I have taken random classes in BJJ, boxing, Muay Thai and Krav Maga, in pursuit of what I think would be the most practical and effective discipline. Someone recommended to me something called Guided Chaos, which claims to teach practical and effective self defense. I figured, that's perfect because that's exactly what I want (I kinda like the BJJ, but the classes in NYC are quite expensive, and on top of that I'd have to buy a few gis- or do laundry after every class, I guess. And boxing/muay thai don't teach ground control or even avoidance, like BJJ would, via controlling an enemy without harming them- or simply putting them to sleep. And Krav didn't feel like it trained in avileness enough, more like just repeating technique over n over- couldve been the class though).

I was hoping to get your opinion on if you think this sort of thing has merit, and if it would be my best approach (I am a bit apprehensive because some of the stuff they claim to teach involves things like a groin kick, which I always feel is an overrated move, especially since people nowadays wear their pants so baggy i imagine itd be hard to even hit their testicles).

If you're honestly looking to crash-course some defense skills, find a judo club that teaches rape prevention.

No, he didn't. He told members that saying nothing more than, "Search function noob!" is the problem.

In his post above, he said it in a more polite manner and, more importantly, provided a link to a thread that addresses the OP's question.

Prvoiding an useful link is the antithesis of, "Search function noob."

To summarize the referenced thread, guided chaos is awful and will not help you unless you are fighting off a gang of kindergartners, OR if you desperately need to win a breakdancing competition on saturday and require a montage.
