Great job! You were the better guy. Why did they re-start you standing? I don't get it. Would have been all you if he started you in mount like they are supposed to.

Some of the reffing was not very good there

1. You should've been restarted in mount.
2. Should've kept your guard close.
3. There's a cheat rule there if you want to know it so he couldn't score on you.
4. The only way to get ready for that competition adrenaline dump is to practice with your partners competitively.
a. Best example I can give you is that my guys get a fresh person in every minute and they have to stay in the middle the entire time even if they tap their partner.

3. Curious. But cheating to win a piece of tin seems counter productive.

4. That's the plan. Gotta up the intensity which was pretty high to begin with. I had read about adrenaline dump, but it really was insane. I guess you've got to experience it to understand it.

My first three kickboxing matches ended first round KO's. I was so tired I couldn't figure out what was up. I used to be a decathlete for Christ sake. Then I ran into a guy that knew what he was talking about.

Good skill in your next event.

That's great because the guy in black was totally a much much better grappler than the slob in blue, especially standing.

There's an opposite side to this too. The last competition I did I had a hangover, smelled of vodka. I'm so keyed to high level that I never get nervous while competing anymore. So yeah, make sure you're nice and worried so you don't lose that adrenaline rush.
