    My first competition

Yep. 28 years is a long time and it was extremely hard to quit. Though Startibg Bjj at 40 and getting tooled by kids half my age every night is pretty tough too:).

I bet it was, if you can do that, you can deal with getting tooled by kids, lol! Good luck in the competition, hope you're back to let us know how it went.

Thanks rhino. I hope to post the match/s for criticism. As of right now though, it looks like there is only one other wrestler in my division.

I would say good luck, but luck won't help you win.

So with 4 days to go...I'm guessing the butterflies and anxiety is normal.

Good luck! I compete all the time, and I don't think my game could possibly be the same without it.

I'm hoping this is true for me as well. The guys in my gym who compete are at another level well above those who do not.

Gonna try. Is it a good idea to get in some drills tomorrow night at open mat or should I just rest up for Saturday?

Drill some tomorrow but mostly take it easy, just do the reps slow and correct.

Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
