Testing for SAMBO; the Guantlet

So this was me basically handing off the reigns to Coffeefan. He ran his first beginners promotion back to back with the intermediate student promotion. All the intermediate candidates showed up for our graduation gauntlet where they already were worn out.

Rules; All submissions are legal, no slamming, 2 minute rounds, if you manage to tap the initiator you get the rest of the round to rest.

Is the sambo belt/ranking system yours, or related to another system (ie USJA judo, USAJudo, or the sambo system used briefly in the US, etc.)? And what do you look for as promotional criteria? A codified set of techniques?

The system is actually mine. It's base was built off the judo colors but the standards are held against sambo 's cousins bjj and judo. The test is skill and knowledge based.

You must have a minimum of 8 months training, but the median time is usually 1.5 years.
