I want you to consider the implications on food distribution if the power goes out across the nation all at once and it then takes weeks (months) to bring the power back.

Supermarket freezers and refrigerator units go out.
Distributor refrigeration goes out.
Rail and traffic systems are in some chaos.
The distribution system records are down without power.
Communications are spotty for placing orders.
Orders are trying to be placed simultaneously across the spotty comms...

It's not simply the consumer power to homes. A universal power outage is very serious.

Yeah, those all suck, but the real problem is if power isn't re-established to the world's nuclear power plants before the backup generators run out of fuel. There are something like 40 plants in this country alone which store their spent rods just like at Fukushima. Without power, they'll all melt down. That's my understanding anyway. You won't be much worried about your internet at that point.

I kinda like the idea of India with nukes. Pakistan would probably chill out a bit, and India would never get enough of its politicians to agree on one thing.

Those two countries, combined, have plenty enough nukes to end all life on the planet, and both cultures tend to be somewhat fatalistic in the first place. Add to this water shortages and the disputed area of Kashmir being the source of much of the region's water. The Indian government has essentially said that one more bombing, like the one in Mumbai, and it's on. I wouldn't take that situation so lightly. I personally think it's one of the world's most dangerous tinder boxes.

When you're talking about India and Pakistan, you're not talking about two cultures. India has 6 national parties and dozens of local ones, and the border with Pakistan touches 3 or 4 different Indian states.

India has land disputes with China too, but I doubt that will come to war either (but if it did, it'd be a huge deal).

Yes, I understand that no one nation is just one culture...sorry if I worded that oddly. I hope both of you are correct, but I think you're downplaying the actual tension between those two nations.
