Sorry, but Crossfit sucks. Alan Belcher VLOG #12; WIN signed MMA gloves!
I like my crossfit gym.
Then again, my crossfit instructor has 30 years experience as a personal trainer/fitness coach/athlete, and doesn't follow the prototypical crossfit dogma.
PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

Much of the Law Enforcement and military community has bought into the crossfit craze. Crossfit of course latches on to this fact however it is important to note that the military and LEO often "suppliment" their training with CF not rely on it soley for fitness. I see value in CF for mixed training however after 1.5 years of just CF I found my body more injury prone than before. I believe that this is due to the fast pased Olympic lifts and high reps. I think if you were to take out the speed reps with OL and tailored your workouts to include CF style work sometimes there would be a benifit. CF got me into good shape but it did not make me a faster runner or "rucker". Only running and rucking did that. I dont subscribe to the CF is king methedology and think the $100-$175 a month dues are rediculously stupid (as is my spelling). I drank a little of the KOOLAID and spit it back out. This is my opinion only.

I like my CrossFit gym too, but I think that's largely a function of the owners' other qualifications. The owners are married. The husband has a Masters in exercise physiology and certifications outside of CrossFit such as from USA Weightlifting and the wife was an amateur bodybuilder.
I think CrossFit has some good things, such as introducing the average person to Olympic lifts, but there are certainly negatives. The biggest being the lack of quality control. You can go to one weekend session, pay your fee, and voila you have a CrossFit level one certification and can open your own gym. -

First of all, I'm a fan and have followed your career since you fought Starnes. I don't have any experience with CrossFit, but hear some good and some bad.
Do you have any experience and/or recommendations as for P90X or Insanity? My schedule is really assed-up; some days I train at 2:00 AM and others at 2:00 PM. I have no regular training partners and am considering the videos more for motivation than guidance. Your thoughts on this?!?!
If it has Tires or Tits, expect problems.

Sorry to be late to this one but I was out of town when this thread came up. I just wanted to chime in and agree with Alan. The sucky thing about crossfit is the randomness of it. If you would just get a trainer who can tailor you workout to the goal you are trying to reach, you would be much better off. I think crossfit is popular because it is different and keeps you doing new stuff which breaks up the manotiny of working out. Like ADHD for working out.
