LOL, not something ones usually sees at Judo national championships. The freestyle ruleset is interesting, though. Kind of KOSEN in nature.

That armbar is not in my bag of tricks but anyone that reaches that far over my back is likely to find themselves rolled into kesa pretty damn quick.

Read the comments. There's a bunch of criticism, and the guy that won is claiming the loser is nidan or something. Apparently the white and black belts are what they wear to distinguish the competitors under that ruleset, and not an indication of rank.

For sure. I've done a similar armbar but without the same finish. More of a Waki Gatame sort of armbar.

Jeez, if that guy was a nidan...I've had bad days so I guess I shouldn't be too critical.

That's right, I look twice as spectacular on video.

But their standup looked as bad as mine does, definitely not the crisp authoritative movements I expect out of higher level Judoka.
