    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Texas secession?

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

The right to secede was a provision of Texas joining the union back in the day. That said, no one besides nut jobs has ever seriously considered it.
Shut the hell up and train.

I think the right to secede was retained by the original 13 states when ratifying the constitution as well. We had a little argument about that a few years later.

This post-Obama whining from Texas should be taken as seriously as the Second Vermont Republic was in 2004.

And among the last in education, last in healthcare, and last in job creation.

The only reason Texas' economy is doing so well is they have more direct access to cheap labor.

Oh and at least 90% of the state is a desert.

Messin' with Texas time? Not from my part :)

I saw the petition mentioned in a politics forum and I found it strange. But if this was provisioned back in the day, so be it. That's what democracy and rule of law is about, isn't it?
