Wrong position. If you've ever watched competitive skating there is a technique they do where one person spins and the other holds onto them for dear life...I'll see if I can find a video of it.

Compliance wouldn't matter if the weight (or strength) difference is big enough. Once you are airborne and your arms are secure...you have no more control, you are experiencing increased Gs and are basically at the mercy of the thrower.

Once the throwee attains a certain acceleration, he's going to be almost weightless and can be thrown with ease.

Spinning in ice skating is largely possible because of the ice/skate surfaces.

Right.

But it doesn't require it, as evidenced from the OP video. It's entirely possible for a strong judoka to do it without the frictionless surface that ice gives using the awesome waist power judo develops.

We've all seen it done even in professional wrestling so many times. If you're the throwee you can't really win...hold on and you can get body slammed (essentially the OP video), let go and you go flying out of the ring.

It sucks to be the weightless one. I think that is the biggest insight of judo, so I guess maybe there is a judo principle at work in the video.
