Let me know if you want me to help with this, residential tenancy law is a bit different up here in QLD than NSW.

also, I would suggest filing a complaint against him with the police. He's already known to them for drunken violence, and like any good grappling defence, preparation is key if this goes legal.

Edit: You could apply to have the tenancy ended by QCAT (as it is an urgent application you don't need to go through teh RTA) and then renegotiate a new tenancy sans drunky or moves elsewhere.

BF I did not want to pontificate in a thread about abuse, because you don't need that from anyone.

But you know probably as well or better than I do that one of the clearest signs of a straight up alcoholic can be the personality shift that occurs after the first drink.

The nicest guys...friendliest girls...sweetest whatevers...can turn into absolute apeshit, home-wrecking, de-evolved lunatics when the sinful nectar hits their tongues. Then the juice becomes their crutch, their excuse, their lament, their "reason"...whatever.

The effects of alcohol on someone with a problem shouldn't be a guidepost on your ability to trust in general, and you know that.

You just need to be more careful about trusting someone you know is acting like a junkie.

    Alcohol only reduces inhibitions

I think when a person is in a drunk state one gets a truer insight into that persons personality

No you don't. You get a truer insight into primal emotions and mindlessness.

I have a problem with "alcohol only reduces inhibitions" because I have actually seen "alcohol only" ruin entire families.

Alcohol and the subsequent brain chemistry that occurs can significantly change people into their worst possible version.

I am a fairly quiet and un-intrusive person, sober or otherwise.

Sober, I sit and scan the room.

Unsober....I sit and scan the room with a stupid smile.

Unsober and some good metal comes on, I might mosh with like minded folk but that's as violent as I ever get. But I prefer to mosh sober because it helps you stay on your feet.

I could have misconstrued your post, but I often run into folks who don't really have a problem with booze (or whatever) or have never been in a situation with someone who does and make claims about how it sheds some "inner light" on them.

Having to lock up your valuables from your own family members really changes your perspective on just how much drugs can change someone, which is why I don't think booze or drugs shows someone's "inner character" as much as shows the worse possible side of them...the one that would sell their best friend, family, or spouse out for one more hit.

I agree drugs chip away the veneer of humanity that coats all us homo sapiens

I believe your actions when high/drunk are what to expect when extreemly hungry/thirsty

I think we should do a science experiment

Wabbit takes drinks every half hour and makes apost every 5 mins

I think it would be most edifying

Oh please...I've drunk posted like everyone else, you just have to spot them because I can be quite a goofball when I start writing, sober or otherwise.

My real drug of choice is a keyboard...
