Dear Mr Internet-Fu
You say you lurked here awhile before joining?
You must see how joining a site in full awareness of its culture and then bitching about it comes over?
If you are still about take a deep breath, let it out, go to the beginning of this thread and read again perhaps pretending your posts are not your posts..how do they in all honesty read to you?
You mentioned people find it easy to vent and be rude to 'anonymous' folk on the interwebzz..perhaps that can work the other way as well and you can be less bothered by percieved insults ( real or not ) posted by people you don't know?
If you can't do that there is another approach : You mention ego. What is it that is offended? Personally an insult only bothers me if it comes from someone I care about on some level ( either in person or because I respect their opinion or I know they are more savvy than me ). Or more importantly because while insulting me the fucker also happens to have shown me some of my weak points..how ##kin dare they!
Its an opportunity for growth..insults and all. If its just insulting move on, be a grown up. If you refuse a lesson JUST because its rude ( in your opinion ) thats YOUR problem.
When I first joined this site it was a rude awakening. I posted not totally unlike you have in this thread, not in content but in spirit..like having a conversation with someone but not really listening to them, only thinking " your not listening to me!". Little knowing it was the other way around.
I did not do that deliberately and slowly started to realise how I was coming over..I'm hoping its the same with you.
I still post like a shitard on occasion and when the flame comes its a motivator to correction.. -

Step 1: Break off opponent's arms
Step 2: Force feed opponent own arms
Step 3: Extract opponent's arms
Step 4: Reattach opponent's arms using TCM and duct tape
Step 5: Charge procedure to opponent's insurance, thus dim-makking them both physically and financially
Sweet! I'll hold the cam.
