Know any good karate dojo in northern california? Read more at showthread.php?t=11865

I'm looking for a challenging, serious, non-sporty, traditional dojo nearby. Can you tell me what dojo to avoid?

Here's a list and links to the places:

I would say: go and watch or participate in their training, and see if it's vigorous. And check if there is any sparring, and if so, what kind.

Saw a lot of kata descriptions, and interviews with parents and about kid's classes <-- and all that doesn't say much, now does it?

There is Enshin in San Francisco and World Oyama in Oakland. Both offshoots of Kyokushin.

There is a Kyokushin dojo in the Concord/Pleasant Hill area. www.wahdojo.com
    It's good.
