I was thinking the posture illustrations and the writing. Off the top of my head a lot of similar posture. The writing along with what I'm seeing in the forms here would also explain the variations present in the Wu (鍚虫皬, Wu Chuan-yu's family) style.

Privacy screen and a well turned monitor.
If people could see my screen, I probably wouldnt feel comfortable posting.
Part of the reason I've been offsite for a while.

From what I can tell searching around the internet no one else speaks of a Tiger style/form in Yang Taiji. I asked my teacher if he had heard of it referred to in this way on mainland China and he said no..anyone got links or thoughts on that? All references I can find come from the Hong Kong Yang line, just wondering if its an expression formulated there in particular ( possibly Ip Tai Tak only ).

I ask as reading Boyds site he states:

Master Ip was an innovator, adding exercises, drills and martial variations to the body of knowledge passed on to him by his Master.
    and

Master Yang also gave Master Ip permission to personalize the Yang Family Long Boxing and weapons forms to suit Master Ipís martial interests and beliefs.
Just wondering if naming it Tiger comes from that..

    Ah.

Master Boyd will use videos of Grandmaster Ip Tai Tak to reveal the subtle but important differences between the snake style (Disciple style) and student style (tiger, crane).

As I understood it, the animal names were just an easy way to reference the variations in frame. I never learned if they were from YSC or from Ip. I believe Ip's first disciple, John Ding, also refers to a snake style.

Lol...No me neither, more playful *****...which is fine if your fighting a mouse..

...but seriously I wonder if Boyd is aware of the implications of his claims, cos that takes some big kahunas and a mighty thick skin if he is, though its prob only going to piss off the Hong Kong crew.
