Like all my music preferences, my EDM has to be hard. With very few specific exceptions, I cannot listen to anything that would make people think they can "chill out" in any way. It's just a preference, but I don't get anything from huge build ups and chilled drops. If there is to be a drop, I want it to smack me in the face, I want my head bobbing, and my body doing things my conscious mind hopes no ones watching, while my unconscious mind takes me on a journey to other worlds. I don't want to be thinking I am on a journey down a desolate highway, which some of that stuff reminds me of, no offence intended, that's just my emotional reaction, yours is different.
I appreciate your links, Thrutch, but none of that brand of EDM does anything for me. I see that type of EDM as come down music, background noise for when the drugs are wearing off and you're skinning up with your mates, where there's conversation, rather than being immersed in the sound. In saying that, I reckon it would be good come down music when you've spent all night out and have just dumped a few more pingers or acid and are chilling out waiting for the eye flickers. Then I reckon it would have a good other world journey effect.
But considering I don't do drugs anymore, the music feeds my emotions, thus needs to hit me up real quick. -

That Eden Synthetic Corps reminds me of a grittier version of the hard energy back in the early 2000s, which was my thing back then, so we're on the right track.
Definitely industrial metal influence in the second one, when did they hit the scene?
I'm looking for that dark and hard sound, with the hip hop/ trap beat. Apparently trap was born in the south of America, ghetto style, and as is always the case, co opted by the white man, this time the white man in Britain, for a change. Invariably the white man pussifies it for mainstream acceptance. I want that dirty gritty hard bass from the south, ghetto influenced, you know?
Cause I'm straight gutta, yo. -

ESC has been around for about a decade. From Portugal...not very big here in the states.
Every album and track is a winner. They have a 4th coming out next month.
