If you are incapable of understanding basic figurative language, you will be wasting your time in college. I would second the suggestion to find work in sanitation, which is a perfectly fine job, that often pays well, is crucial for civilization, and that has high enough turnover that you could probably find something in the field.

I'll "third" the sanitation suggestion.

Goodlun, Rivington and Devil are spot on with regards to the "computer job".
I know someone who runs a large data forensics and recovery team, he has a music degree.
That said he's been a computer geek his entire life yet he is constantly upping his game and competition is fierce.
The perpetual student line is very apt.

There is a direct correlation between music and mathematics, and computers are, after all, based on mathematics. My computer guy went to a vocational school to be a recording studio engineer (he is a gifted guitarist), and has no other formal education. He is awesome with computers and makes good money.

Oh, no doubt on the music connection.
My friend is a pipe organ and accordion player.
He bills, last i heard, $450/hr for his time.

@ the OP, if you think you might have the chops (i don't think you do, but whatever...)
there are tons of online learning resources with regards to programming etc.
You might try out some of these first, as opposed to committing to a college program.

You know what? You should do it. I would love to see you dump gobs of money and find yourself in a lot of debt over something you won't be good at that you'll make like $15/hr working at geek squad over.

Here's what you should do.

1. Go get whatever degree you fancy. Since you think that a business degree can get you in the door for an electrical engineering position, just go ahead and get started on that.

2. Fill out an application at Geek Squad.

3. Profit. It's that easy.

It won't be hard at all. Nope. Just go and do it.

Actually what I said holds up doubly true for this as well, your not going to marry money unless
you can do things that other people will not do to her.
you can do things that other people can not do to her.
With the one caveat these things have to be something she wants done.

there's 2 things about IT jobs that seem unappealing to you:
-IT jobs may be well paying, but a lot of them don't last very long. You work a few months on a project and when its done, you're done.

-a college degree isn't actually that important to the hiring managers- they want a very particular skillset and years experience in things that aren't college majors. They're individual skills. They're looking to see if you know X,Y, and Z, not where you got a CS degree.

So, its not a great industry choice for those who want a job that just requires a college degree.
