Not MAKING my parents let me box when I was a kid, and not sticking with BJJ when I was first exposed to it in fucking 1994. I could have been a mother fucing BJJ BB now, even on the Ed O'Neil plan... that was NINETEEN YEARS ago. I fucked it up, and it will never happen now.

Do it. When I was 19 Rorion hadn't even opened his 1st gym yet, there was essentially no Muaythai in this country at all, and UFC I (and any hope of MMA) was almost 10 years away. By the time the good stuff started to be offered I was in my late 20's; by the time the style associated with MMA competition evolved, I was in my early 30's, and even then there was not one MMA gym in my city (pop. 2.5 million) . DO IT NOW, NOT TOMORROW; You're young and you're living in a golden era.

The over-forty-slowdown is even worse than the over-thirty-slowdown, and this is exactly my message to Rafe and any other Bully in their prime who is not finding time to reach their MA goals. Better do it now boys or you're gonna wake up one day and find that training wreaks havok on your aging body. I had 3 years from the day I started training, to the day I became a 24/7 single parent.
