Easy answer: Nobody trains them. They're hard to use if you don't know how to combo into or out of them. 90% of MMA dudes and K-1 dudes train in Muay Thai gyms which don't really use side kicks.

Have you and Omega used them very effectively? do you think they can be used as a large part of the kicking arsenal if properly trained?

I'm very interested in sidekicks in Kyokushin they are practiced but not very used at least where I trained

Sirc and KK both use it because they train in gyms where the standup foundation is San Shou and not Muaythai. in fact their coaches fought back in the day.

BTW UFC fighter Pat Barry is in this vid winning Silver for the US. Cung is billed as "Mr San Shou" in the UFC but he never got better than bronze at world's

I know you're addressing someone else but... great for kicking a dude out of the air when he's using Superman punch. In MT it's considered a variation of Teep.

I take it as an offence against martial arts in general that you guys claim to be martial artists. You're role playing enthusiasts who like Martial Artists. And that's fine.
