You guys have all the fun. We lost all our type-A personalities to Israel over the years. All that's left here is a bunch of Woody Allen clones.
My dad taught me that the fetus is not fully developed until it leaves graduate school ;)My dad did MA and taught me karate as a child, than he send me to a Krav Maga school when i was 8 (the real stuff, with kickboxing and judo).
As a parent I fully support what you are saying. I am very proud of the way he has mellowed. At the time of the 2011 Mega he was a cocky 15 year old getting in trouble for fighting at school. Now he's been promoted to blue and hired at his gym as a kickboxing instructor. He's mellowed and learned that respect can flow from a bow and an "usu!", and not just from a 1-2 combo. Fingers crossed, he'll be fine.Having some skill in an early age that will prevent you from being a bully bait jew is good, however if your son exhibits over aggression, and bad manners that is on you! that **** can land him in trouble more often than get him out of trouble.
It is a fine line between being tough and being a dick, it is not easy to teach i guess, just take it more seriously if your son exhibits bad social skills, you will deeply regret it one day if his over-aggression lends him in trouble. As you know actual tough men don't pick fights and GS or what have you. We all know them, usually the quiet ones, easy going guys that when push comes to shove will execute a mother fucker and sleep like babies after. Just try and see that he isn't trying to impress you by acting aggressive.
As far as him making money fighting, that's not really his plan. He wants to finish school, study business, and open his own MA school someday. If that fails I'll teach him Linear Algebra.Last edited by Matt Phillips; 11/15/2012 12:33pm at .
