Not exactly. I was always interested in martial arts, but saw a lot of kids doing Kempo, Goju, etc getting tooled on the school yard by untrained toughs. I WANTED it to be real, but I didn't trust it. When UFC I jumped off I felt like I had an idea what the good stuff was and got started. A huge part of the narrative on the Gracies was that they were so GOOD because they started so young. Ben was exposed to the good stuff from a very early age. Of course I encourage him to be "smart", I'm fucking JEWISH.

**** yes I will live vicariously through my son; I was 27 years old when I got started. My **** was already starting to slow down a little. If my parents had encouraged me to have legit striking and grappling skills developed before I learned to drive, that would have been awesome. Wouldn't you want the same?

I literally begged my hippy parents to let me start boxing when I was 10, but was told that was for the Goyim. That **** did not get passed down a generation. When Ben was 8 he asked if he could box, and I took him down to Sityodtong. He's been training ever since.

The only reason i bothered to say something is because of that. I live in israel so this whole don't box it is for the Goim doesn't fly. My dad did MA and taught me karate as a child, than he send me to a Krav Maga school when i was 8 (the real stuff, with kickboxing and judo). Having some skill in an early age that will prevent you from being a bully bait jew is good, however if your son exhibits over aggression, and bad manners that is on you! that **** can land him in trouble more often than get him out of trouble.
It is a fine line between being tough and being a dick, it is not easy to teach i guess, just take it more seriously if your son exhibits bad social skills, you will deeply regret it one day if his over-aggression lends him in trouble.As you know actual tough men don't pick fights and GS or what have you. We all know them, usually the quiet ones, easy going guys that when push comes to shove will execute a mother fucker and sleep like babies after. Just try and see that he isn't trying to impress you by acting aggressive.
