I wish. The gong saus, of the early days, were ridiculous and constant.

Gong sau is now a running joke on Bullshido. Back when I lurked and joined it was not.

How is it that the places you guys train at aren't willing to get involved and sponsor a get together?
    $396,69 (at todays rate).

The city sponsors through cheap facilities.
If your club is connected to a (recognized) federation, you can get A-level insurance (MMA, Muay Thai, etc...).
If you are not connected to a federation you get B-level insurance. This is included in the lease of the facility.

The guy paying to host and giving his time to organize people shouldn't have to listen to a bunch of fucking monday morning qb's on another continent tell him what he is and isn't or can and can't organize.

Wouldn't it be better to have this thing at one of those MA clubs? They're used to people getting punched.
I have to disagree with you on this one. If the organizer is going to be financially and legally liable, he would be foolish not to worry about any potential incidents that could occur during the event.

If the site (BS.net) hosted the event, purchased the insurance, and was liable for any incidents that occurred, I would agree with you. As it is, the events are posted here and organized by it's members, but the gym owner and event organizer has deal with any **** that goes down.

Right, but that isn't all of bullshido that's internal problems with your group. Minus the two issues named, any of the other recent or planned TDs have none of your drama.

And every year some drama starts a few months after the EuroMega, it's frustrating.
Not really. Two people were given **** and only TWO. The rest got sucked in by the way Matt posts. Instead of projecting that onto all of the other participants, let that **** go. You've spent multiple posts proving you run ****, tell those two not to show up. If it runs smoothly then you'll know the source of your issues.

Holy mackerel, I've been to 8-9 Bullshido TD's and never seen any fallout from any of them. I suspect this is the fault of a few individuals, rather than the norm given the relative rarity of TD drama over an almost ten year period.

I can understand Zendokan's issues with finding space that will allow any type of contact. In the past, the Austin crew has experienced the same issue.

Some of you need to train a whole lot more and post a whole lot less. Rafe.

Edit: So, basically, I agree with IIF.

As I said, someone else would just step in and organize it.
Prone already talked about doing the next one when it seemed that Zendo is moving away. Hiro talked about it. Tonazuba tried to do a Slovakian TD in 2011, but I'm not sure anyone attended (I tried to but life intervened). UK guys used to hold London TDs. I thought it was obvious.

Again, you're trying to make this (EDIT: what I'm saying) more than it is.

I'm not tring to make it anything. I just don't think anyone should ever be banned from attending a TD, and I don't think anyone has the power to do such a thing. Look how this idea was tossed around by Rafe earlier in the thread. He wanted to ban TS just for being critical of him. Then he painted him as a rogue, dangerous sparring partner. An assessment you pretty much rejected. If we want to seriously consider excluding people from our events for liability reasons, at least put the decision in the hands of more than one person. Just because Rene is not the sort to abuse power doesn't mean individuals should have that kind of power in the first place. As you pointed out, Rafe wanted to start organizing TD's, and he would have abused this power by his own admission. Unless he was lying about that

Edit: saw your edit. I might have specifically with your point. Not on purpose if that's what you suggested.
