I am as much a believer in Alive training as the next Bully, but if someone wants to put in some hard fuckin hours training Taolu, and set up some way they can tell themselves (and me) they're making progress, I have no problem with that. I am not my Jewish brother's keeper. I know what he is trying to say because I've heard him say it with his voice. It's hard to express because a lot of us that stepped back from the group in 2010 did so because we had assumptions about the values here that turned out to be debatable. Out of interest, I've noted that there have been numerous unsolicited references to being Jewish by Jews on this thread. I'm just wondering, outside of Matt's (later on in the thread, preceded by many references) reasoning for teaching his kid to stand his ground as a Jew, why there seems to be the need to increase the board's awareness that people on this board are Jewish.
It's genuine interest, I don't care that you are doing it, I'm just wondering if it is a sort of "show of force" that may have arisen since the recent events in the Middle East. Originally Posted by The Juggernoob

We always do it, and probably for the reasons I gave. It's literally against our culture (in the diaspora anyhow) to be interested in fighting. When you are in the room with other Jews of a similar slant and you start chanting "YIDS! YIDS! YIDS!" you're affirming you're in a pocket-culture of Jews with different values.
