Yes, the guys who "do networking" plugging cables into switches and routers often don't have or need technology degrees.

The ones who build and work on 1.9 GHz LTE transmitters or ethernet controller ASICs...all have degrees.

The day may come when global microwave networking doesn't require advanced degrees.

But it is not this day.

1. They have degrees in very specific fields of computer science, engineering and communications. Some doctors get education in becoming heart surgeons and baby surgeons. I don't understand what your point is here.
