This is THE Apollo amateur night singer. I would see this guy all over the city for years. The guy kills it. Have not see him in a while, not sure what's up. But, Bad Brad is a local legend around here. I seen him kill at Union Square once during the holidays at the outdoor shops they set up each year. i love the apollo. partly because my mom raised me on motown 45s, and partly because it's the last place i know of that you can be boo'd off the stage for suckatude.
i listened to an NPR podcast where economists were talking about negative feedback loops and they used booing at the apollo for part of the discussion of their hypothesis. one man being interviewed said, "if they ain't got no business up on that stage, i will boo them. i will boo them in the name of jesus until they go take some lessons or SOMETHING!
i think we here at bullshido can learn a lot from the apollo theater and dan bowen, who should be freed.--------
