I will say this though, I think voting in America is a little messes up. I believe you should have a stake in the country, actual ownership of something, such as a house, a business, or **** it, I don't know.
I honestly don't believe that uneducated, welfare receiving inner city people, living off the government, should be able to vote.
I' m sorry Sirc, was that racist? Let me rephrase: replace inner city with trailer park.
I guess the IQ test is a good idea. I'm just tired of stupid people. Stupid people on both sides of the shitty left/ right spectrum.
Inb4 straw man arguments, and personal attacks.

I thought that being a US Citizen above the age of eighteen gave you a stake in the country. I also thought that depriving people of their vote based on education, wealth, or position in society, would be one of the first things that people who defend our country's principals, would stand against. Fighting for our right to vote is one of our founding positions.

If you find yourself writing "I don't know" to explain your reasoning you should just delete the post and walk away. If you haven't even thought it through in your own head, how are we supposed to understand your points?
I chuckled a little at your uneducated, IQ and living off the government part. You realise these tests would disqualify you from voting three ways right?"Boxing is the art of hitting an opponent from the furthest distance away, exposing the least amount of your body while getting into position to punch with maximum leverage and not getting hit."

The hood mentality is crippling disease, that attacks your nervous system. It makes you nervous of the system. Gangsters and hood rats are especially susceptible to this growth stunting mentality. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. --Keith David--Ice Cube

How do you define "uneducated", then? Because I define "uneducated" as somebody who hasn't read Proust, who doesn't understand the meaning behind the paintings of Joan Miro, who doesn't speak Ancient Greek, who hasn't lived abroad for longer than a year, and who has never touched the ocean with his own hands. And that's just me.
Because what you really refer to is academic formation, something that can be bought, stolen, or, as it is mostly these days, born into.
Education is what you make of yourself, and what you earn with experience.
And as long as you supposedly spend your evenings playing video games, or binge-drinking, or wrestling other men in Japanese costumes, or bragging about your future wife's breasts on the internet, guess whose right to vote would likely be among the first to be revoked, according to your own idea?
And who makes the tests? Like, who determines which questions are asked, and who determines how the results are measured? Wouldn't such a person or entity have over-proportional influence on who gets to vote, and who doesn't?
Because with your logic, you would create a new nobility consisting of the testers, and a new peasantry of those that are the test subjects. Much like in the Hunger Games, actually. -
