"Good" Crossfit

Thanks. I'm slowly burning out on Martial Arts and was thinking of just a general workout program. We have a couple of crossfit in my area. Now, I know what to look for, thanks guys.

Our boxing coach's sun is a Cross fit trainer, and we do cross fit twice a week with non boxers, i have to tell you, it is very very hard, so you will get really fit, but it can be also quite harmful to your joints IMO, especially those endless repetitions of a certain movement. It is a great way to get fit, but it is also quite risky compared to a balanced gym work. I stopped doing it with them and just work the heavy bags and lift weights on those days, my joints are sore as is.

Hello all, its a new entry with first post. Well, all done nicely but do have a
little issue with "Crossfit does kipping pullups, which aren't real pullups". Not
sure about it.

A kipping pull-up is no more a pull-up than a push press is a press.

Crossfit does'nt suck. There are plenty of good Crossfit gyms being run by guys with plenty of experience and technical knowledge.

As with anything that goes 'mainstream' quality control has gone flying out the window but I see the same problem happening with BJJ and MMA gyms.

Also I quite like the 'kipping' pull-up because it allows for a more cardio heavy explosive approach. (I wouldnt use them as a substitute though.)

Surely the main reason Crossfit train it this way is because it makes the transition to 'muscle-ups' easier.
