As the article was trying to tell me. So Ogopogo's much closer to home than any Scottish loch, has a much more interesting name, with an actual verbal history from the First Nations; and I've still never heard of the bugger.
This is what I get for automatically blocking out all things Canada-related when I hear them. What if I'd gone visiting and unwittingly took a swim in that water? Those logs looked pretty menacing in the video. -

I've swum in that lake several times before...it's actually quite beautiful in the summer, and there are tons of hot, bikini-clad 20-somethings all over the place. I tell everyone that my binoculars and telephoto camera lens are for lake monster sightings, but I'm usually looking at much more...tangible things that rise glistening out of the water...

Like water: Sheeeeeet man, I live in Slovenia and I've heard for Ogopogo, Manipogo and Champ in my youth.... (Heard for them from an Arthur C. Clarke book - not that much interested, I just like to keep some healthy track on things in order to be able to seriously **** with some too naive bozos.)
