Halloween Costume

I helped put on a haunted house for my kid's school carnival this year. In the process of doing so, I realized I would need a costume for my role inside the house. I haven't worn a costume since college, 20 years ago.

I bought a Gilley suit and some glasses with red lights that fade in and out just below my eyes. With the shroud of the suit over my face, the red lights looked awesome. I hunkered down in a corner unmoving by the first turn into the house. With all the grass, sticks and leaves I stuck to the suit, I did not look like a person shaped thing when crouched.

I waited to move until the kids were right next to me. Then I stood suddenly and spread my arms out. I made several adults scream as well as the kids.

A few of the kids reportedly had small accidents when they got scared.

Mission accomplished.

The haunted house at City Park in New Orleans had a guy running around in with a real chainsaw minus the chain, plus other amazing things. The guy would fire up the saw and stick it in your ribs (adults) and rev the engine! I nearly killed the SOB when he did it the first time to me, which would have been a mistake, as they were all sheriff's deputies volunteering. Argh!

There were little kids running screaming and crying from the thing.

You'd have fit right in.

Becareful. Last time someone did that **** to me when I was a kid I ran up and haymaker'd the person and continued to beat them with my bag of candy until someone grabbed me from behind.

Depends upon location and local beliefs. Whatever you do, don't make and post video -- unless you include your home address in the credits.
