I wasn't looking for a plausible explanation. It was the scene near the end when he's shaving and he rambles on basically going through the whole conspiracy theory in his own head, that led me to believe that maybe now it's also psychological. You are right though, when they are caught they do ramble and spew more crap.

I have a question though, for you guys who are more knowledgeable about Dux. I know his Kumite stuff is bullshit and pretty everything else that must come out of his mouth but does he have any sort of skill when it comes to his MA or is his skill crap too ?

I ask cause I haven't really seen anything on the subject when it comes to the stuff that I have read or the videos i've seen to date, not to mention that i'm so totally new to MA that I couldn't tell skill from **** if it kin geried me in the "peaches" as these ninjers liek to say LOL

You made a definitive statement concerning his head injury. You then related a story of your uncle. I said "I THINK" because maybe that isn't how you meant to write the sentences, but it sounds like you are looking for an explanation to make his incessant lying and rambling plausible.

The head injury severity sounds like a lie to me. Also, if you've worked with people doing a documentary, they ask you to ramble/talk because they don't want empty space.

As Bullshido is an evidence-based discussion forum, Dux would actually have to present some sort of MA skills in order to evaluated fairly.

He has yet to do so. It has now been more than 30 years since his supposed Kumite victories...

No, pushing a compliant partner to the ground is not MA skill.

No, showing a table of weapons is not MA skill.

No, telling stories about your secret agent past isn't presenting MA skill.

No, listing one hundred unverifiable MA claims is not presenting MA skill.

Nor is co-writing a screenplay about your supposed MA skills.

I give most charlatans the benefit of the doubt. I think most have martial arts training of some sort. Knowing a martial art is different than having skill at a Martial Art. I think many have 2-3 years of youth training and a ton pay for play videotape training. Con men talk a good game and demos cover their lack of skill

The ultimate irony is that JCVD actually has some MA skill.

He also has....you know....muscles. I have really only seen two versions of Dux: 70's Waif Dux, and Modern Fatty Dux.

I'm sure he still wants to wring Dux' neck to this day, after being hauled into court simply for dumping Dux as fight choreographer for his later movies.

I ran across a photo of Dux from around 1990 (still looking for the damn thing); he actually appeared to be in shape (HWP) at that time. This says nothing of any level of skill or ability.
