The thing I think to take away is this. Sport Judo rocks, it gives you all the core tools you need.
The dirty judo stuff he teaches is the easy part of self defense to learn. Unfortunately its the part a lot of other styles get hung up on. It is also completely useless with out a good solid base of knowledge that one develops through sports based martial arts.

Maybe. I never thought I could beat you in a match, and I still don't. Like I said before, I wanted to rile you up. Maybe I'll watch a video of you. You and I are not the same kind of fighter. I only fight to protect myself, and my friends and family. At that I have been successful.

You fight for a living, and I do respect that, in spite of the **** I've said. The only way you would ever convince me to fight you, is by my code. Protect myself, my friends and my family. I believe in strength with peace. Fighting is not how I make my living. It has at times been what I have to do, to continue to do what I do.

I've been beaten down, walking through the ghetto at 3 am. My own fault for being there. Outnumbered, and would have surely been shot if I tried to fight them. Bloodied from my head to my toes. I blew blood clots out of my nose for weeks.

But if anyone threatened to hurt my son, no matter how tough they are, I would kill them, maim them, or die trying. Since before he was born, I've tried to learn all I can to keep that, and still be alive. I am still trying to learn, but I can't find a good teacher for either of us.

Back to the issue, you still want to see how tough I am?

OK I might make a friend or two here. I've since posted respectful responses to some of the posts, and apologies for some of the ones I made. I was hell bent on either pissing off Omega to the point of really going off, or getting kicked off the site. I was not successful in either one.

I would like to add that I am very aware there is Bullshit hapkido out there, both systems and instructors. I learned from A.W. New. He is not bullshit, neither is his teaching.

He learned, and continues to learn from Master J.R. West. Master West is as far from a joke as you can get. I don't care if you don't take hapkido too seriously on this forum. Grandmaster West earned his black belt while in Vietnam, fighting the war, not on tourism.

He has offered and given training to FBI, FBI swat, and Fort Benning. He is well respected and utilized by the US armed forces, to which he served. I don't think the government would have him giving training to spec. ops or the FBI if he was not to be taken too seriously.
