Well first of all lets talk about Uruguay ruling party
"El frente amplio" (The Broad front) whats the broad front? a large political party (around 46% of voters but actual supporters may be around the 30 porcent) that is composed of all the left groups communist, ex-guerrilla like the current president, socialists, centre-left, liberals and such, the radical workers have a separate party that is on the far-left. Ok so with all this groups Its almost very hard to come to an agreement with a lot of issues and Marihuana is one of this issues so for now there is a lot of disussing on this.

The legalization would be all state controlled, growing the plants and distribution all would be state-run

So your thoughts: are you on support of legalization? do you smoke it?

Personally I think its just some bullshit of the president and this plan would not come to any progress.

With legal is : You can buy it freely in drugstores (Lolz that name) but you may have a limit and you may have to get a license (yes the broad front cant agree anything even between them)

And yes we are on a large crime rise

Long way to go for tourism. Holland's fairly easy to get to from most of Northern Europe.

Having the government run it is where the scheme will fall over. The government is terrible at ensuring there's adequate supply and demand.

There will still be a black market, but it will operate to meet demand where the government fails to do so, either through not opening up shops or not supplying shops adequately.

Then they'll probably make it illegal again, when they find they aren't getting enough tax revenues from it, because they're being undercut by more agile operators who respond to market forces.

Weather is template now we are in winter and still 0 celcius is kinda weird during day

Sounds like a good plan. Banning drugs obviously doesn't work and has all kinds of side effects (particularly in the countries that produce the stuff, like Mexico). Keeping drugs legal, but tightly regulated is definitely worth a shot.

And for the record, the only drugs I take are caffeine and chocolate. I think using drugs is a bad idea. However, quite a few people seem to disagree, and as long as they don't **** up their or others' lives, it's their choice and their business.

Actually you're a bit closer than I am. But personally I've always wanted to visit South America.

I always wondered if a European or USA citizen would find cold or warm my country during winter
Paraguayans and people from the more tropical south america find it freezing during winter

Yah, sure. My point was that the majority of tourism to Holland is by other rich western Europeans. There aren't any poor Chinese, Africans or Latin Americans travelling to Amsterdam to get high.
