martial art choreography
Recently I came across a japanese martial art comic titled holyland. No it's not about the middle east. Its about a boy (Yuu Kamishiro) who was bullied a lot. He eventually learns the one two combination from a book and surprisingly he, without any fighting experience, knocks out a bully. This initiates a string of events where he has to fight one on one matches. The comic got turned into two live action drama series. one korean, released this 2012 and one japanese, released in 2005. These are two scenes from the japanese drama.
Round 1 www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q7SDYiMwXo
Round 2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpk1LwY6svI
In these two scenes, Yuu kamishiro fights his mentor like figure Izawa masaki. I would like to ask, Izawa used an open hand uppercut strike in round two. What are the risks of using a barehanded uppercut? Why use open hand? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a bare handed uppercut?
And, did you like the fight choreography?
Bas teaches it and that makes it good enough for me.
