Rock is the oldest Martial Art weapon

Rock is the oldest martial art weapon

There seems to be a constant war of words between the stickfighting and rockfighting circles at present. And the reason is a lack of understanding betweenthe two camps of what it is they actually do.

Using a rock as a weapon: what point does it become like using a stick, and what is meant by rock? For instance, rocks as it is practised today was developed from about 2 billion years ago. What is today called rock has nothing to do with the old styles of stick. Today'srockfighting is based on what the cavemen wanted to teach to the masses. Withoutgoing into too much history, it started with a rounded piece of granite. It started to alterthe fighting of the day by crushing people's heads while they slept. This meant removing a lot of techniques he considered too dangerousto teach to children.

Well, chimps chew the tips of branches to make crude spears that they use to stab bush babies, and some New World monkeys have gone to great lengths to transport rocks they use to crush the local hard edibles.

Now, pretend I stretched that out into a dozen condescending paragraphs.

Prior to all of the rock and stick stuff, single cell animals would bump into each other and exchange angry hurrrumps.
