Is it just me or does anyone else get the feeling that a lot of preppers are closet (or not so closet) white supremacists just hoping for EOTWAWKI so that they can feel justified in shooting minorities and trying to establish their own version of a "City on a Hill"? Or, in the words of this guy, "like minded individuals" who want to recreate the US "based on the Constitution minus all the Liberal crap." When I hear him say, "like minded individuals," I think "neo-Nazis" and when I hear him say "minus all the Liberal crap," I think "like the Bill of Rights and the 13th thru 15th amendments?"

Though, in defense of your point, the a-holes are the most outspoken and visible.

Real preppers know better than to advertize their stock pile and plans publicly.

For bow you needed years and years of training, while with crossbow anyone could cock and fire it. And noble men were too afraid of common folks being able to penetrate into them.
Well, no crossbow revolutions happened, but some knights and one king or two died along the way...

Get the longest-range rifle you can. Just one--with scope, of course.

Get position on people with shorter-range weapons such as shotguns and crossbows.

When they're in your range (and while you're still outside of theirs) drop them.

Take their weapons--or anything else off of them--if you wish.
