Kamagong or Bahi?

If it's just weight you're looking for why restrict yourself to wood?

The local hardware store will have various lengths and diameters of metal pipe for a fraction of what your wood sticks will cost. (Though you may want to get some tape as well to improve the grip)

Can't bang with them at practice but they'll give you the workout you're looking for.

Vibration can be pretty bad with metal pipes, but a little tennis grip tape can help with that. Shoot, if they'd had quality piping a hundred and fifty years ago, we probably wouldn't even be using rattan right now.

Kamagong shatters abruptly while bahi degrades and eventually crumbles. Having a kamagong stick shatter while contacting a tire or an object can be dangerous, which is why I prefer bahi, which is just as heavy.

Another reason why I prefer bahi: kamagong is an endangered hardwood here. I don't want contribute to more deforestation of our remaining rainforest areas.
