The original Robocop (minus the sequels) was able to turn a satirical eye to American culture while simultaneously having lots of blood and gore, a la Starship Troopers. Plus, explored what it means to be human in a world that's more and more artificial. That actually sounds like a premise that could be expanded in a world of Robocop + zombies. And for those not interested in subtext and satire, there would be Robocop + zombies. The only problem is that Robocop vs zombies is more one-sided than a Superman movie.
