I like movies that I cannot figure out the ending or what will happen next. That are so absorbing, I forget I'm watching a movie.

Not sure Robocop will be like that...

It'll be like the Total Recall Reboot. They'll tweak the story, it will look pretty and be a mediocre movie.

Fair enough...I'm not familiar with the "original material", so not sure how much there was to work with in the first place.

I'll wait for the DVD to come out, LOL.

Awesome social commentary disguised as a cheesy action movie.

It seems the reboot will generally lack social commentary or do it in such a ham-handed way that they felt the need to keep the arm.

That's what people don't understand about the late 80s and early 90s movies. Robocop was prophetic.

    Sex sells.
    Gas Guzzling Cars.
A city with a large industry going bankrupt.
    Brazen Criminals.
    Corrupt politicians.

It's funny, because many of the things in there have occurred.

Robocop was a game changer as far as 'action cinema' went for me. Ultraviolent, darkly humorous and socio politically savvy entertainment. Left the cinema having had an 'experience'..similar with the first Matrix movie (which they should have let stand alone imo).

D9 did the same for me. Not so Elysium.
Destiny replaced consequence and paper thin stereotypes replaced flawed circumstance driven characters. Looked awesome tho.

Edit: Getting my film threads mixed up!

    Robocop Trailer

    http://www.robocop.com/teaser/?hs308=email

Looks pretty good..Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Sam Jackson.
I hope it turns out to be a decent remake.
