    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    The newfaggest newfag in town.

There he goes! He doesn't know the first thing about martial arts! He doesn't use the search function! He's Magpie McGee, the hugest, most giant noob on the internets.

I decided to finally stop lurking and make an account because I'm looking for kickboxing/Muay Thai instruction in Morgantown, WV. I know of two schools, Anu Academy and Ground Zero fighting systems, but I have no idea what I should be looking for beyond "aliveness" (see I pay attention).

I found a review by Killbot on this site for GZ, but I can see how his opinion could be skewed.
I'd really prefer not to have to do this through trial and error, so does anyone have some perspective or experience with these two gyms?

Thanks, and looking forward to maybe getting punched in the face by some of you someday.

(I can't post links yet, so I guess Google the schools? Sorry.)

    Welcome to Bullshido.

Having looked at both websites and their respective instructors, both look solid. Both schools have done well in competition. The only significant difference I can see is that the Ground Zero gym has two black belts and the Anu Academy appears to be taught by a purple belt. This is based on a rather quick perusal of their sites however.

My advice is to go watch a class at both places and decide which is a better fit for you.

    Here are the links:

    Ground Zero

    Anu Academy
Shut the hell up and train.

Thanks jnp. I'll probably decide by prices, as neither advertise membership fees on their sites.

I had to Google 'newfag'. From the urban dictionary......

newfag A word used by no-life internet nerd elitists to describe somebody that has not gone into a subject as deeply as the internet nerd did (mostly because the normal person has a life), and the internet nerd acts like a jerk towards the normal person because the normal person (what the nerd calls a "newfag") got a single small detail about a subject wrong.
Between newfags and internet elitists, newfags are the lesser of the two shits because they don't revolve their lives around whats on the internet.

I guess I'm used to more Internet-ey parts of the internet. It's basically synonymous to noob. I find it's always best to open with a little self-depreciating humor.

It is kind of disarming, but I'm not going to underestimate you anyway LOL.

Anu apparently has a separate muay thai program, so I'd be checking there first if that's what you're after. By all means look at both, though. Only you can tell which will be a better fit.

Do both places offer a free class (or two)?
