Could have had weapons et cetera. Not going to expound to much further because basically everyone have discussed that possibility already and it was clear that his choice of action worked out for him. I wouldn't have pursued the other mugger, or started the fight with the first one personally.

The first point is that they very well might go to the police. After all, there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that these two guys were doing anything wrong. Sure, common sense says that they planned to victimize Renzo. But, that sure as **** doesn't amount to probable cause.
The second and more important point is that they will probably get a lawyer and sue the pants off of Renzo once they figure out who he is. And, Renzo did a good thing for them by tweeting about it. Now they know that they have a defendant with lots of money and other things to lose. Any decent lawyer will argue that Renzo battered them without any justification. "I thought that they were going to attack me" isn't justification for his actions. There is never a legal justification for searching for a fleeing suspect, choking him out, and punching him in each eye three times while he's unconscious; never.
The third point is that they probably will go to the police, just to bolster their argument against Renzo in their civil case.Last edited by Charles Brown; 9/10/2012 4:08pm at . Reason: duh

Ipp you are entrenched. No one is saying he wasn't justified. Basically, from his own tweets, he could be sued.
To summarize CB's points:
HERE IN AMERICA criminals will sue your ass for dumbshit.
The internet helps people sue your ass for dumb ****.
Basically, STFU about certain **** when you post on the internet. This goes a hundred fold when you are recognizable.
If you want an anecdotal story, go look for bobyclumsyninja's story about his bullshido posts. -
