As a small business owner, while I don't agree with a lot of Mitt Romney's policies, I do admire his diehard commitment to not paying his taxes. It's really an inspiration.

Except he has never failed to pay his taxes. Your lack of uderstanding about taxes doesn't equal him not paying.

If criminal prosecution is happening it would be public record. I would guess embarrassing not flat out tax evasion.

I'm aware he hasn't shown all his tax records. If you're going to make assumptions, you'll be on much more solid ground if you assume he has paid his taxes.

If anything can be gleaned from the 2010 return, it's that he (or his people) are extremely business savvy and well versed on the tax code. His business affairs are structured to minimize his tax obligation in every way possible. People like that don't just **** themselves by flat out failing to pay taxes. Especially not for 10 goddamn years like Harry Reid said. He'd most likely be in prison if that were the case.

Most likely, Mike321's assumption is closer to the truth. He probably paid a small percentage of tax compared to what other rich folks pay. He probably did it within the letter of the law but knows he'll have to deal with a world of butthurt if it is made public.
