Other people whom I have encounterd in Judo that I find scary because they can **** me up even though I am a Macho Man.
13-16 year old Girls/boy, ~100 lb women, men in their late 70s, Blind men and women.
Yep people from all of these categories have managed to toss my around like a rag doll while I was in my mid twenties and quite athletic.
Damn world class Judo players!
Its actually very funny, on one hand being a grappler I exhibit a certain amount of arrogance especially against non-grapplers because I know from experience what happens when a new guy/gal comes into the gym. On the other hand I spend SO much time being humbled by people that society at large would certainly not consider scary in the least. I mean come on a 13 year old girl I mean crap how the hell can I possibly lose, yeah I prefer to just block those memories out cause the poor ego just can't take it. -

It's not actually Blind Judo, its VI Judo, because not everyone who is eligible to compete is completely without vision.
The categories are B1, B2 and B3. She's B1, which is completely blind, hence why she has what looks like the Japanese flag on sleeve, the red circle indicating B1.

I've trained with a few, I believe, B3 guys who had some limited vision i.e could tell the difference between light and dark or could partially make out vague shapes in one eye or in part of one eye.
What's nice about VI Judo is how it gets much closer to the heart of what Judo is supposed to be about - pure action reaction. -
