    Solution looking for a problem maybe...

    What I mean is that this could be some pushback towards the combatives program being expressed in this "research". I'm curious to someone saying:

    "Hey, these soldiers are coming to their first duty stations with a lot of concussions, what's the deal???"

    Or:

    "Hey, this combatives thing looks pretty dangerous and the training is rough, I wonder how many concussions they get from it???"

    I remember an article on MMA some time ago where they were talking about concussions. They brought out some statistics that people were getting concussed a large number of times in every fight. It seems that someone was just counting the number of times a person was "rocked" and considered it a concussion whether it was or not.

    I love that this article expresses so much concern that soldiers might suffer a concussion in training, but is perfectly fine with them potentially being blown the **** up on the other side of the world.
    I'm glad their psychologist managed to get in a "What about the poor delicate wimminz!" comment, too. Especially since he made it about a woman who could, in all likelihood, kick his ass.
    This is part of why I, as a rule, am weary of anything said by a research psychologist.

    If he hold back from battle;
    But old age will grant him no truce,
    Even if spears spare him.

    Statistically they are more likely to be injured or killed driving. Looks to me like someone is using this research to push an agenda.
