I'm not sure why any UFC fighter would assume they wouldn't be fighting if their scheduled opponent got injured a week out from an event. I would think it would go without saying that they could expect a last minute replacement. Happens all the time. Business as usual. Apparently Jones thinks he's above that now. He's not bigger than the sport.

Personally, I'd like to see champions being challenged by actual contenders, not shittalking scrubs from a lower weight class coming off a decisive loss. Giving Sonnen ANOTHER undeserved title shot sends the wrong message entirely.

So would I, but the opponent is irrelevant. Jones wasn't willing to fight ANYONE on short notice. That's just bullshit. Fighting on short notice is part of the sport.
