    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Hello from Washington State

    Hello Bullshido,

I started studying Taekwondo* in '92, but due to school and finances ended up taking a break for nearly 10 years (which sucked). I've been back at for the last year and should be testing for my 3rd Dan soon.

Yes... I know TKD is an incomplete art and a favorite whipping boy around here. Even I like to take a jab at it sometimes. That being said, I don't exactly have the time and definitely not the income to start studying something else.

*Our school style originates from ITF but is no longer directly affiliated with ITF due to the heavy influences of Hung Gar Kung Fu (or Gung Fu... however you wish to say it), Tai Chi, and some supplemental grappling and Arnis.

and finally... I look forward to conversing with y'all I hope my skin is tough enough. ;) time will tell.

    - Eric

P.S. Forgot to mention that I am an assistant instructor and will be opening my own location soon... hopefully.

Aw, and I just made my exodus from Seattle. There's a pretty good MA scene out there.

Shh, Battlefields, you're going to scare him/her away!

Welcome, Eric. Can't say I know what you kids have in the way of options down in Bothel, but income is hardly an excuse when it comes to say, Judo. Which would fill in the major gaps in your TKD. (Or boxing even, so you can actually learn to put your hands up and find out what our "alive training" schpeal is all about, but Judo would be ideal) The world doesn't need another TKD mcdojo spreading mediocrity specifically to our children just to get by in a rough economy. Mix in a little extra Judo, though, and you'll have my seal of approval.

You also have the most kickass grappling club EVAR like town miles down the road in Seattle.

I'm sorry that you assume that a TKD school is, by default, a mcdojo. There is a difference between mcdojos and incomplete arts.

Forgive me for not getting the joke. I am a lowly noob, after all. Why is this hilarious?
