Give yourself time to recover from injury, your brain does have SOME capacity to recover from trauma.

Data shows that most of the sustained brain damage (especially long term effects) by pro boxers comes from their training sessions and lack of recovery. 40% of pro boxers sustain some type of brain damage, 20% of pro kickboxers (more damage overall, but less to the head). And ammy or recreational who literally takes 20 times less hits and with much longer recovery times has (I'm estimating) maybe 0.5% chance of some long term brain injury. And even then, not every brain injury is the same.

    P.S.

From the videos, their technique is pretty sloppy and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to what the padholder is asking for, but I don't know what level the guys in there are at, either.

Rurik, I love your slight issues with english. "focus mitten" is a hilarious term.
There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.

Daniel: I don't know if I know enough karate.

    Miyagi: Feeling correct.

Daniel: You sure know how to make a guy feel confident.

Miyagi: You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.

That'll happen the first few times you get whacked in the head. It's nothing to really worry much about unless it continues.

Our resident expert on this subject (Brother Daniel) recomends repeatedly punching yourself in the face to help prepare for the streets and the ring. This and taking (4) 200 mg chunuprofin after each session.
