This is where I got lost earlier. Is "MMA" the takedown and grappling classes?

You'll be fine. Ear shots just make you dizzy and hurt like hell, no brain damage there. I wouldn't worry about brain damage until you start saying dain bramage. Which will happen in about 3 months.

A valid concern. Put this in perspective, how much hits do professional boxers take, it is magnitudes higher than recreational or ammy players.

A pro boxer trains 2 sessions a day, 6 days a week, imagine how much hard rounds of sparring that is. And how little time he has to recover in between sessions.

Give yourself time to recover from injury, your brain does have SOME capacity to recover from trauma.

Data shows that most of the sustained brain damage (especially long term effects) by pro boxers comes from their training sessions and lack of recovery. 40% of pro boxers sustain some type of brain damage, 20% of pro kickboxers (more damage overall, but less to the head). And ammy or recreational who literally takes 20 times less hits and with much longer recovery times has (I'm estimating) maybe 0.5% chance of some long term brain injury. And even then, not every brain injury is the same.

    P.S.

    Spoiler:
