Sorry My english is not the best
I will explain it the best I can
I do Kyokushin, I see other Kyokushin practcioners attending BJJ and MMA seminars I found that useless as we keep only doing "pure" Kyokushin (no clinch, no groundwork, no leg catching , no head punching)
I went to one Trial Class at this MMA academy I'm going to go for One month and I know the instructor is both an excellent person and trainer.
With that month I will learn a few thing to expand my game and I will continue to practice the headshots and clinching on the bag and the ground work and throws with a few friends who do BJJ.
In the next months I may be able to start crosstraining in that academy continiously -

A lot of the techniques you've learnt in karate won't be too effective in MMA sparring. Be ready to fight at a slightly different range, be ready to sprawl, and be ready for your training partners kicking your legs hard and often.
From kyokushin, this will be your friend:
