    Sambo in San Diego

    Hello everyone.

I'm a new user here as well as new to martial arts. I don't have much of a background aside from very light Muay Thai training and a longtime interest in it, but I'd really like to start training.

I'm very interested in Sambo, and am trying to find a school which teaches it in San Diego. Unfortunately a search on the net didn't provide me with much. I have seen this question asked here and elsewhere a few years ago, but I was wondering if things have changed since then.

So my question is, is there a way to learn Sambo in San Diego?

    Any help is much appreciated.

I haven't really found SAMBO in San Diego, but I'm interested if anything comes up in this thread.

I have also tried looking for SAMBO in San Diego no luck, on the other hand though you will find pretty decent BJJ and Judo around.

Bear in mind that training in BJJ, Judo or wrestling is a lot more like SAMBO than not training at all. Don't set your heart on some particular style then end up staying on the sofa when you can't find it.

Tell him there's already a demand there.

All I want to know is, when are you moving to Austin to personally teach me? /half-joking
Shut the hell up and train.

There is a demand alright. I just think there may be too much competition from BJJ. There is a Bjj place on just about every corner now.

Actually he moved. His uncle though, who still lives in the area, was the first person I promoted to black belt. He's a probation officer in the area.
